The Celtics delivered the Pistons their 28th consecutive loss after earning a 128-122 overtime win at TD Garden.
Kristaps Porzingis led all scorers with 35 points to go along with eight rebounds.
Jayson Tatum chipped in with 31 points and 10 assists for a double-double.
He also recorded a game-high five steals. Derrick White scored 23 points, grabbed four boards and dished out five assists.
Boston is now leading the Atlantic Division at 24-and-6.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons in scoring with 31 points to go along with nine assists.
Bojan Bogdanovic, Jalen Duren and Jaden Ivey each recorded a double-double.
Detroit is last in the Central Division at 2-and-29.
