Yankee Candle Downsizes In South Deerfield

The parent company of Yankee Candle has announced it will close its South Deerfield distribution facility by the end of this year.

A spokesperson for Newell Brands says the company plans to relocate the facility's operations to another center as part of supply chain consolidation and optimization efforts.

Approximately 200 jobs will be affected; a timetable for layoffs is not known.

Last year, Newell had closed down corporate offices in South Deerfield.

The flagship Yankee Candle Village store, manufacturing facility, and research lab will remain in operation.
