Western Mass Remembers Dr Martin Luther King, Jr

Slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is honored on what would have been his 94th birthday today.

Over the weekend, his work and message were highlighted by the Council of Human Understanding in Holyoke.

The organization has hosted a commemorative breakfast every year since its formation in 1983, and the theme of this year's event was "unselfish love."

Speakers noted the concept was one King likely would have approved of, and that the work he gave his life for remains to be completed.
