Harvard Study: Fruit Juice And Weight Gain Linked

A Harvard study is showing a link between fruit juice and weight gain in both children and adults.

It's a new analysis of 42 prior studies which found that drinking a glass or more a day of one-hundred-percent fruit juice is linked to weight gain, not just in kids but in grownups.

The study, published in JAMA Pediatrics, says the actual weight gain is small, but significant, because fruit juice causes a sugar spike and too much sugar in the blood can lead to obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

The study's lead author says the bottom line is, skip the juice and eat the orange or apple itself.
