Former Massachusetts State Representative Walter DeFilippi has died.
DeFilippi was reported to have passed away on Monday at the age of 97. A native of West Springfield,
DeFilippi served in the US Navy and graduated from New York University and Western New England College.
He represented the 6th Hampden District as a Republican from 1979 to 2000. DeFilippi also served on West Springfield's Finance Committee and Board of Assessors.
