Word from Chicopee Police over the weekend that Officer Mark Wilkes has retired.
He was nearly six months in the hospital following a heart attack he suffered after playing in the Battle of the Badges Hockey game last year.
Police are recognizing the response of firefighter paramedics who stepped in at the beginning of the medical episode
