A Westfield man convicted in the stabbing death of his girlfriend has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Twenty-eight-year-old Blake Scanlon was found guilty of first-degree murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Alexis Avery in January 2019.
Scanlon was arrested after police found the 20-year-old Avery dead from multiple stab wounds at the home they shared.
Scanlon is also accused in a separate case of trying to have a prosecutor and witness killed in 2020.
