Millions of people will be looking up at the sky today to witness the solar eclipse.
It's the first total eclipse here since 2017 and will be the last until 2044.
The path of totality, where the sun is completely covered by the moon, will occur in over a dozen states.
Triple A says in some portions of New England, one might think that it is a holiday weekend, there are so many people looking to get north to see the historic event.
Today's solar eclipse won't have a direct effect on cell phone service, but officials in the path of totality are expecting massive surges in traffic over data and cellular networks.
That's because hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather for the event, spiking phone usage in areas often not accustomed to a large influx in visitors.
AT&T is assuring customers it's prepared ahead of the eclipse.
