The woman who was stabbed to death over the weekend in Holyoke was an employee of the Hampden County Sheriff's Department.
Forty-eight-year-old Eileen Monaghan of Chicopee was found dead of her injuries in the 200 block of South Water Street early Sunday morning.
Monaghan was confirmed as working for Sheriff Nick Cocchi as an executive assistant.
Her alleged assailant, 52-year-old Jason Chapdelaine of Springfield faces arraignment on a murder charge today in District Court.
Chicopee officials say he is a city firefighter that has been put on leave.
We are expecting more details later today during the Holyoke District Court arraignment.
