The Springfield Mayor says the city is in better financial shape than it ever has been but is wary of the future.
The mayor submitting an almost 929-million-dollar budget for the next fiscal year-representing an almost six percent increase over the current fiscal year.
The budget includes an almost seven percent increase in the school department funding and maintains a 69-million-dollar rainy day fund.
The city council gets it next.
They will be able to cut-they cannot add it the bottom line.
