A Pennsylvania man is accused of murdering his roommate, dismembering his body, and hiding the remains across multiple locations. Authorities launched an investigation after receiving a missing persons report for 37-year-old David Hittinger on May 13, who was last heard from on May 11.

Investigators learned that he recently moved in with 33-year-old Joshua Moser and executed a search warrant at his home. During the search, they found a large amount of blood in the basement.

Hittinger was taken into custody over an unrelated incident and told detectives that he struck Hittinger in the head with a hammer, killing him.

Moser then admitted that he cut up Hittinger's body and dumped the remains in three locations. When officers searched the locations that Moser provided, they found trash bags containing human remains. Investigators were able to confirm they belonged to Hittinger by checking the fingerprints on one of the severed hands.

Moser is facing charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.
