Third Suspect Arrested In Fatal Western Mass Highway Shooting

A third suspect has been charged in connection with a deadly highway shooting.

 21-year-old Miquel Dones was charged with murder and will be arraigned this morning in District Court.

He has been in jail after being charged in an unrelated drug and gun case. 

Dones and two others charged after the March 12 shootings on 391.

According to a statement from the Hampden County District Attorney:

"On Friday, March 22, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Noah Torres, 19, of Springfield. He has subsequently been arrested and arraigned on March 26, 2024 on the following charges: murder, possession of a large capacity firearm without an license, possession of a large capacity feeding device without an license, possession of ammunition. He is currently being held without the right to bail, his next scheduled court date is on May 23, 2024

Also arrested in connection with this investigation is Kiana Gonzalez, 22, of Holyoke, she is charged with: accessory after the fact, tampering or destruction of evidence, possession of a large capacity firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity feeding device without a license, possession of ammunition without a license. She was arraigned on, March 25, 2024 and is currently in custody, bail is currently set at $25,000. Her next scheduled court date is on June 20, 2024."

The investigation is continuing.
