A new state of the art community health center is coming to Springfield.

Baystate Health says their center will be built on ten acres of land valued at five million dollars to be donated by project partner MassMutual.

The land is at the southeast corner of MassMutual's Springfield campus according to Mass Mutual President Roger Crandall.

The MassMutual Foundation will also donate an additional five million dollars over the next five years to support the center.

Other state and federal grants will assist in the construction of the 90-thousand square feet facility which will provide broad health care and other services for residents of Greater Springfield.

Officials say the center's location is near major highways and will offer patients access to public transportation and free parking.
