One of the three men convicted in the prison killing of Boston gangster Whitey Bulger has been sentenced to time served and released.
Sean McKinnon was accused of serving as a lookout as two other inmates with mafia ties beat Bulger to death in a West Virginia prison in 2018.
The 38-year-old McKinnon is a native of Vermont, and pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in connection with the case.
McKinnon is expected to move to Florida, where he previously lived with his mother.
Meantime Fotios Geas, the Springfield man accused of also taking part in the Bulger beating will be sentenced when he appears in court August 1.
Paul J DeCologero will be sentenced September 6.
