911 System Meltdown Was Not Cyber Attack

A computer firewall glitch is the likely cause of yesterday's 9-1-1 outage statewide.

Investigators said the firewall stopped emergency calls from getting to dispatchers for two hours.

While the exact cause remained under investigation, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security said the outage was not the result of a cyber-attack of hackers.
