A popular pool in Springfield is being temporarily closed due to vandalism.
City officials are closing the Forest Park pool -temporarily following several recent incidents.
Those incidents include verbally assaulting pool staff and slashing the tires of police cars.
The mayor isn't saying how long the pool will be closed. The pool needs to be drained--the vandalism removed and the pool refilled and that could take sometime. And, the mayor is threatening to close the pool again - regardless of how hot it is if it happens again.
The alleged crimes were caught on video surveillance, and arrests are possible.
