The interim head of the Massachusetts State Police is condemning comments made by a trooper about Karen Read while he was investigating the death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe.

Trooper Michael Proctor is under fire and the subject of an internal affairs investigation for disparaging texts he sent to various people that were read aloud in court during Read's murder trial.

Colonel John Mawn said Proctor's comments do not reflect the State Police and that misconduct will not be tolerated.

A mistrial was declared yesterday when the jury was deadlocked.

The District Attorney has indicated there will be a re-trial.
