A merger between Texas-based Six Flags and Ohio-based Cedar Fair is expected to finalize today.
The new company will be called Six Flags Entertainment Corporation and will have an estimated value of eight-billion-dollars.
Cedar Fair says many of its operations at its headquarters in Sandusky will remain, while the new operation site of the company will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Six Flags is then expected to close its Texas headquarters.
Local Six Flags officials have not commented.
