Springfield Police say a woman is dead and two men were hurt in an early morning shooting in the South End.
Police say one suspect was taken into custody a short time later.
A spokesman called to the area around Niagara Street right around 1AM Friday.
Police found a woman with a gunshot wound. It was that unidentified woman who later died.
Two other men were discovered nearby with minor injuries. They are expected to survive.
The Hampden County DA and the Springfield Police continue to investigate.
