The jurors in the Massachusetts murder trial of Karen Read voted to acquit her of murdering her Boston cop boyfriend before a mistrial was declared last week.

That's according to a motion filed Monday by Read's lawyers.

Read is accused of killing John O'Keefe with her SUV and leaving him to die in a snowstorm.

Defense Attorney Alan Jackson filed the motion to dismiss two charges in the case and said the jury unanimously agreed Read was not guilty of second degree murder and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.

Jackson's motion said a retrial on the counts could violate double jeopardy protections.

A status hearing is set for July 22nd.
