Western Massachusetts lawmakers are reacting to President Biden's announcement that he is ending his re-election campaign.

Democratic State Senator Joanne Comerford of Northampton agrees with the decision, stating that the best thing for Biden is to finish his presidency then pass the torch.

State Senator Peter Durant of Spencer, a Republican, said the campaign is still focused on the policies of the Biden administration.

Massachusetts U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey have already endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination.

Springfield Congressman Richard Neal has praised Biden's Administration and his decision, but did not reveal whether he would support Harris.
