Avoid The Connecticut River In Agawam And Holyoke

The public is advised to avoid the water in Agawam and Longmeadow after a sewage discharge into the Connecticut River.

An unknown amount was released from the Riverview Pump Station in Agawam.

There should be no fishing, boating or swimming for 48 hours after the discharge because of the health risk from bacteria and other pollutants.
