The Northeast is bracing for Tropical Depression Debby.

The former hurricane is currently spreading heavy rain and strong winds across the Mid-Atlantic.

Fire officials say the storm system is being monitored on an hourly basis as it moves toward Western Massachusetts.

The fire department says the remnants of Debby could cause flooding and power outages as it passes through Western Mass tonight.

They are reminding residents to keep their phones on them and stay away from flooded roadways.

Debby is expected to dump up to four inches of rain today from Pennsylvania to New England.
