The Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi says he is sorry.
He was arrested over the weekend on a single count of operating under the influence outside of the MGM Casino.
He has been released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned on the charges later today in District Court.
The Sheriff, says that he failed to adhere to the high standards he has set for himself and takes full responsibility.
Details are expected in court later today.
