Hampden County is getting two-million-dollars from the state to improve its parks.
The grants from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs will go towards upgrades to Blunt and Magazine Parks in Springfield along with Sarah Jane Park in Chicopee.
It's part of a more than 27-million-dollar initiative by state officials to improve parks and open spaces in Massachusetts.
State Senator Adam Gomez said the funds will transform "underused areas into vibrant recreational spaces for future generations."
