The NBA season tipped off on Tuesday.

The reigning champion Boston Celtics crushed the New York Knicks 132-109 at TD Garden to begin their title defense.

Boston tied an NBA-record with 29 three-pointers made in the season opener. Jayson Tatum stepped up with 37 points and 10 assists to knock off their Atlantic Division rival.

Meantime, three people suffered minor injuries when a drone fell from the sky during the Celtics opening night watch party at Boston City Hall Plaza.

The drone fell into the crowd at around 7:30 last night, just as the opening night game against the New York Knicks was starting.

A woman was taken away on a stretcher with unspecified injuries, while two other people were treated at the scene.

The drone apparently was being used by TV network TNT, which was filming the event as part of the NBA opening night coverage.
