Former Providence Bishop Richard Henning became the seventh Archbishop of Boston during an Installation Mass on Thursday.

There were protestors outside of Cathedral of the Holy Cross, calling on him to address clergy sexual abuse.

During Henning's homily, he said the church in Boston is a wounded church because of the failure to act with compassion.

The Archbishop said a debt of gratitude is owed to the victims and survivors who have told their stories - because they have protected future generations by their courage and their truth telling.
