The polls are open on this Election Day across Massachusetts from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., with some locations opening earlier.
Massachusetts voters are helping to choose the next president, and also will be selecting all members of the U.S. House and the state legislature.
Elizabeth Warren is seeking a third term in the U.S. Senate, and is facing off against Republican John Deaton.
Voters are also answering five ballot questions, including whether to eliminate passing the MCAS test as a requirement to graduate from high school.
The Massachusetts U.S. Attorney's office will be monitoring the polls in eight cities to make sure federal voting rights are not being violated.
The federal monitors will be at polls today in Everett, Fitchburg, Leominster, Lowell, Malden, Methuen, Quincy and Salem.
There are no locations in western Mass which are being monitored.
The coverage is part of a U.S. Department of Justice initiative to monitor 87 polling places in 27 states for voting law compliance.
The civil rights division of the U.S. Attorney's office will also be keeping an overall eye on election activities.
