A 20-year-old woman and her four-year-old son are dead following a triple shooting in Hartford.
Police say the victims were struck during a drive by shooting yesterday afternoon on New Britain Avenue near Ansonia Street.
20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and 4-month-old Messiah Diaz, both of Springfield were identified early this morning as the victims.
A third person is expected to survive.
The vehicle carrying the victims drove from the scene to Hartford Hospital, where the woman and child were pronounced dead.
A third victim who was in the vehicle has injuries not considered life threatening, and police are trying to identify the shooter.
