Easthampton Wants Former Finalist Superintendent Lawsuit Dismissed

City officials in Easthampton are asking a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a former lone finalist for superintendent.

Vito Perrone filed the lawsuit last October claiming the district violated his constitutional rights when his job offer was rescinded in 2023.

Perrone reportedly was dropped from consideration after he addressed the Easthampton School Committee Chair and an executive assistant in an email as "ladies."

Committee Chair Cynthia Kwiecnski said the remark was "unprofessional, dismissive, and insulting."
