The Springfield School Committee is extending the current security camera agreement with police by 45 days.
The committee says the extension will give them extra time to hear from the community before they finalize a new agreement.
Committee Member Latonia Monroe Naylor said they want to ensure the wording clarifies the on-campus cameras can only be accessed in an emergency.
Over the past three years, camera footage has only been accessed for swat incidents and the shooting at Sci-Tech last March.
