There's a new chief in town at the Holyoke Police Department.
Brian Keenan was sworn in on Tuesday.
The longtime Springfield police captain was named the next chief late last year after an extensive process.
Chief Keenan said his first focus will be on absentee landlords as a way to cut down on blight and stabilize neighborhoods.
And the new chief vowed open and transparent communication and encouraged people if they see him on the street to not hesitate to introduce themselves.
