It appears the state legislature is calling on the Department of Public Utilities to look at out of sight electric bills.
State Senator Dylan Fernandes has authored a letter signed by 20 members of the Senate- calling on the Department of Public Utilities to investigate electric rates which have stunned many residents.
The Senator says that in some cases bills have climbed to more than 450 dollars with 300 dollars of that attributed to supply side delivery fees.
The Senator says that Eversource is trying to explain the increase with the cold weather- but the Senator says those who have controlled their thermostats are seeing mounting bills.
The Senator wants the DPUC to reassess adjustments and to provide some transparency in the rate setting structure.
