Eversource is offering rate cuts following weeks of backlash to high gas and electric bills.
The utility company has announced a ten-percent decrease on one of its gas delivery charges for the next two months.
It comes after area lawmakers called for the state to investigate why Eversource rates were continuing to go up.
The move is only temporary and the company is likely to recoup some or all of the deferred reduction until the summer.
West Springfield Mayor Will Reichelt called the rate cuts a "temporary solution" that only delays the issue.
