Clock Tower Deemed Endangered Landmark

The Campanile clock tower in Springfield is being declared an endangered historic resource.

The Springfield Preservation Trust says the iconic tower needs more than 25-million-dollars in repairs to be restored to working order.

Along with inoperable mechanical parts, the 275-foot-tower has reportedly also had issues with crumbling stone.

The trust is hoping the declaration will lead to funding from the state to begin renovations.
