Authorities in Holyoke say an electric bicycle exploded in an apartment last weekend.
Police said the e-bike's lithium-ion battery pack caught fire in an apartment building on West Court street early Sunday morning then exploded while someone was trying to take it outside.
One person was seriously injured.
State officials say there have been over 150 fires linked to lithium-ion batteries since a reporting system was implemented in late 2023.
