A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been fired for his actions in the high-profile Karen Read murder case.
Officials announced this morning that Michael Proctor is no longer a trooper.
A trial board found him guilty on several charges of unsatisfactory performance and one charge involving alcohol.
Proctor was the lead investigator in the Karen Read murder case and faced criticism for offensive text messages about Read that were read aloud in court during her first trial.
He was suspended without pay in July after a mistrial was declared.
