The judge in the Karen Read retrial is refusing a request by both sides to delay the start of the proceedings by up to three weeks.
Dedham Superior Court Judge Beverly Cannone says jury selection will start as planned on April first.
The defense is appealing the mistrial last year in the federal courts, claiming the jury had acquitted her of murder and a lesser charge but it was never revealed in court.
