Cape Voters Clear On Nuclear Wastewater Discharge Issue

Cape Cod appears to be in solidarity when it comes to wastewater vapor from the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station.

Fourteen towns had a non-binding public advisory question on their ballots during recent elections where voters overwhelmingly told state leaders that they don't want any vapors from the shuttered Holtec-run plant released into the air.

It's the wastewater disposal method the company wants to use for the facility's decommissioning process.

The state DEP denied Holtec's discharge proposal last year, but the company says liquid discharges had been happening safely there for 50 years.
