It's Sales Tax Free Weekend In Massachusetts

Sales tax free weekend has arrived in Massachusetts.

Tomorrow and Sunday, the six and a quarter percent sales tax will be waived for most purchases of items costing 25-hundred-dollars or less.

Items costing over 25-hundred-dollars will be subject to the regular sales tax.

Any businesses that mistakenly charge sales tax to customers tomorrow and Sunday are required to issue refunds.\

Meantime, New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte is reminding consumers south of the border that tax-free shopping is available year-round in the Granite State.

A Manchester TV station reported the governor said she encourages Bay State residents to cross into the Granite State any day of the week and never pay a sales tax on their purchases.
