First responders extinguish a porch fire in Springfield last night.
Officials say the fire started in front of a house on the 400 block of Franklin Street around 8 p.m.
Authorities say the blaze damaged the exterior of the home, but nobody was injured.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by the careless disposal of smoking materials.
