Four Human Cases Of West Nile Confirmed In Massachusetts

There have now been four confirmed human cases of West Nile virus this year in Massachusetts.

The state Department of Public Health has announced that a man in his 80s in Middlesex County and a man in his 40s who was exposed in Hampden County have both tested positive.

There were two previous confirmed human cases in the state, and West Nile risk is now high in 28 cities and towns.

Close to 400 mosquito samples around the state have tested positive for the virus.
