Western Mass Drought Conditions Improving

Drought conditions are improving across Western Mass after last month's rainfall.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map shows most of Hampden County and southern Berkshire County back to normal conditions, while northern Berkshire and Hampshire County are abnormally dry.

Franklin County and eastern Hampshire continue to experience a moderate drought.

While the rain last month was a big help, officials say more is needed to bring the region fully out of the drought.
