Pittsfield Man, Dog Killed In Crash

New York State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Pittsfield man and his dog.

Authorities say a vehicle driven by 46-year-old David Hall went off the Albany Thruway Monday evening and hit the back of an 18-wheeler that was parked on the shoulder.

The dog died at the scene, while Hall later passed away at a hospital.

Troopers said the 18-wheeler driver was outside inspecting the big rig at the time of the crash, and was not injured.
