A broken bridge joint caused damage to dozens of vehicles on I-91 North near West Springfield last weekend.
Officials said a joint on the bridge over the Connecticut River became elevated and protruded from the middle of the roadway on Saturday.
State troopers were called in to assist several drivers who had to pull over in the breakdown lane because of the damage.
Mass-DOT says repairs to the bridge have been made.
