Despite a historic snowstorm, the amount of snow to fall this winter is well-below the seasonal average.
The Springfield region has recorded 36-and-a-half-inches of snow this season, which officials say is 13-inches below the average winter in the area.
About half of this year's snow total fell during the winter storm in late January.
