Fourth State Police Academy Staffer Pleading Not Guilty to Manslaughter

A fourth state police academy staffer is pleading not guilty in connection with a recruit's death.

On Wednesday, Casey LaMonte pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in Worcester Superior Court.

LaMonte is one of four police academy instructors indicted in February in connection with the recruit's death.

In 2024, academy trainee Enrique Delgado-Garcia died from serious head injuries he suffered in boxing training bouts.

All four have been suspended since their indictments in February.
