Springfield To Fight To Keep Local Pine Point Post Office Open

A Springfield State Rep is leading the fight to retain the Pine Point Post Office.

That Post Office, which is located inside Gateway Hardware is slated to close this summer.

Officials say the location remains a key part of daily life for many residents who depend on nearby access to mail services, packages, and important documents.

State Rep Bud Williams says, "“Access to local postal services is not a luxury — it is a necessity for many residents in our community,” said Williams. “The Pine Point Post Office serves as an important resource for seniors, working families, veterans, and small business owners, and we must do everything possible to preserve it. I encourage the community to join us as we stand together to protect this essential neighborhood institution”.

Besides the Springfield location, Shutesbury has been tapped to lose its post office in June.
