Report: MA Minimum Wage Too Low Compared To Housing Costs

A new report suggests that the minimum wage in Massachusetts is way lower than is needed to afford housing.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition's most recent report shows that the average cost of a two-bedroom rental in Massachusetts is over 23-hundred-dollars per month, meaning residents need to earn a minimum wage of 45-dollars and 90-cents to afford housing.

That's three-times the current minimum wage of 15-dollars per hour.

The report underscores the challenges faced by low-income renters in Kentucky and the urgent need for higher wages to address the affordability crisis.
