Suit Alleges Students In Poor Communities Shortchanged In Education

A lawsuit filed alleging the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is violating the constitution by racially segregating schools.

The suit, filed in Boston's Suffolk Superior Court, alleges that minority students are relegated to substandard schools based on where they live.

Two students from Holyoke and another from Springfield are the lead plaintiffs.

The suit asks the state to come up with a plan to even the playing field.

The State issued a statement saying that they are working on making all schools better.
